DESCRIPTION:Everyone knows farming is hard work\, but it’s also LOTS of Fun! \nJoin us for a memorable day of learning & laughter\, fun & food Sunday July 26th from 11am-3pm as we celebrate Maine Open Farm Day 2026 here at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm! \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Check out our activities to plan your visit :\nRed Stove Farm will be serving lunch\, so you can dine under our shady tent or picnic in our beautiful sunny fields: ) \nBaby Goat Frolic between 12 – 1. Join a mob of this years’ kids as they run\, prance\, skip and jump on a trip to the back field. Leaves at noon\, so get here early if you want to join in the fun. We recommend walking shoes\, a hat\, and a water bottle! \nFarmers’ Market is open from 11 – 3 Fill your market basket with baked goods\, meats\, veggies\, olive oils\, goat milk soaps\, & of course our goat dairy products! \nFarm Tours run from 11 – 3 and include: \n 1) fascinating farm history by Kelly\, including historic photos and readings from her book Birth\, Death and a Tractor \n2) personal time with our fabulous goats : ) both kids\, milkers\, and stinky bucks ; 0 \n3) cheese samples! Try them all; including our hard cheese!!!  \n4) an insider look into our state of the art milking parlor with Anil. Our cascading stand that allows us to milk 12 goats at once and transports the milk via pipeline.  \nWe’re all looking forward to seeing you at the farm!

DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 16th between 11am – 3pm for our Fourth Annual Crowning of the Dairy Queens!  \n(The Rain Date for this event is August 23rd) \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				In some states\, she’s a human\, but around here the goats steal the show!  \nEach year we select our top ten goats from among our hard-working\, high-spirited\, and undeniably beautiful herd. And YOU can vote for your favorite Dairy Princess from this year’s group of baby goats : )  \nInspired by both Alpine and Indian traditions\, we have planned a full day to celebrate these amazing animals. The goats have been grazing in our hill pastures since the spring\, producing milk for our goat cheese\, yogurt\, and smoothies\, and we’re excited to give them a day to shine!  \nOur special “Goature” fashion team have hand-sewn glamorous outfits for the goats’ big day\, and winning goats will receive hand-crafted flower crowns. You can join in the spirit of the day by making your own flower crowns and ribbon wands – free of charge! –  \nGrab lunch – and sweet treats! – from Red Stove Farm and B&T Baked Goods. Fill your market basket with the best local veggies\, sausage\, syrup\, soap\, spices\, and olive oils\, as well as our full line of goat dairy products. Make a day of it\, and take some time to celebrate the animals that give us all so much! \nThe Day’s Schedule:11 – 12: Vote on your Favorite Dairy Princess from among this year’s doe kids and fill your basket at the farmers market. Have fun making your own willow crown and ribbon wand \n12: Parade of Bells: Welcome the goats as they descend from their hill pastures \n12:30 – 1:30 Crowning of Top Ten Dairy Queens: Cheer this year’s winners in 10 different categories (Hint: personality matters too!) \n1:30 Presentation of the 2026 Princess – Meet the audience favorite when the kids come on stage! \n2-3: Spread your blanket on the lawn\, make giant bubbles\, color your own dairy queen\, shop the farmers market\, and eat fresh delicious treats! \nPlease Note: We’ll have photo ops with all the winners afterwards\, so bring your camera! \nFor our animals’ comfort (and yours) this event will be postponed if temperatures exceed the high 80s\, or in case of rain.
