DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the magic of the season at our special Yule Goat celebration here at the farm in Somerville on Sunday\, December 7th\, 2025!  Inclement Weather Date will be December 14th \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				In Scandinavian tradition\, the Yule Goat brings presents to children at Christmas accompanied by the Tomten\, farm gnomes who look after the well-being of the animals. Visitors are encouraged to come wearing the Tomten’s traditional red hat (or borrow one of ours) and get a special holiday photo with one of our Yule Goats!  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Learn about the tradition with a special story and nature-based crafts\, then join one of our Yule Goat walks (leaving at 11:30\, 12:30\, and 1:30).  \nBring your market basket and shop our very special Christmas Market\, filled with local produce and crafts. Grab a mug of hot mulled cider\, some traditional German donuts\, and gather around one of our many fire pits to enjoy the season in the company of friends.  \nThis is a FREE event!

DESCRIPTION:Hug a Furry Baby  on Sunday\, May 24th between 11-3 at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm\, 217 Hewett Rd in Somerville\, ME!  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				This spring we had 95 baby goats (aka “kids”) born at the farm\, and we don’t have enough hands to pat them all!  So\, come help us spread the love – and get a little furry therapy yourself : )  \nLike kids everywhere\, these baby goats love to jump and play\, so be prepared for an enthusiastic greeting!  \nBe sure to remember your appetite: Red Stove Farm will be serving lunch here at the farm! They’ll have Chicken Shawarma (Spiced – but not spicy!)  and their Chickpea Hummus Wrap. Gluten Free options will be available as well. \nWe’ll also be holding our First Farmers Market of the season! The farm will be bursting with baked goods\, veggies\, mushrooms\, fiber\, local meat\, plants and of course goat cheese and smoothies!!!  \nWhether this is your first visit\, or an anticipated spring tradition\, you don’t want to miss this warm and fuzzy experience! This is a free – and very busy – event\, so registrations are not required.  \nDonations to support our educational opportunities are always welcome and can be made in the cheese shop.
