Kid Hugging

May 21 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Kid Hugging Returns!  Hug a Furry Goat Baby Sunday, May 21, between 11-3 at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm, 217 Hewett Rd in Somerville!

Young girl in grey fleece hugging a baby nubian goat with a wood barn wall backdrop.

We are excited to be re-opening our barn doors to the public for a chance to meet our new arrivals.

April was a busy month on the farm, with 43 Mama goats giving birth to 1, 2, or 3 baby goats, better known as “kids,” (because they like to play of course!) Visitors can view our very own documentary on the baby’s birth, and then head into the kid pens for a snuggle.

Be sure to bring your market basket and your appetite: Our farmers market will be bursting with baked goods, veggies, mushrooms, fiber, local meat, plants and of course goat cheese and smoothies!!!

We’ll also be hosting our friend and astronomer Rebecca Spitz and her solar telescope! Be sure to stop by and check out the sun up close and personal.

And, after the market – from 3:30 – 4:30 we’ll have the first Yoga class in the fields here at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm! Please register for this class as space is limited.

Whether this is your first visit, or an anticipated spring tradition, you don’t want to miss this warm and fuzzy experience!

This is a free – and very busy – event, so registrations are not required.

Donations to support our educational opportunities are always welcome and can be made in the cheese shop.
