Eclipse epitomizes the saying “Good things come to those who wait.” As a radiantly powerful 7-year old still milking 10 lbs of creamy milk a day, it is hard to remember the spindly kid she once was. Although it took her several years to come into her own, by 4 years old she was producing 14 lbs of milk and had become the herd leader, proudly leading the herd on their trip to and from the pasture. Once easily brushed aside, she had become an impressive presence, and continued to grow in strength and reliability. As a 7 year old, she milked well into the fall and scored a 90 on her linear appraisal in late October. Although she hasn’t given us many daughters, we are willing to be patient with her and with them, as we know her promise!
