More About Hazel
Hazel has been our top milker for many years, peaking at 18 lbs and consistently milking 15 lbs as long as we allow her to keep milking! She combines the productivity of Chateau Briant’s B-line with Mamm-Key genetics brought in by Sage Farm’s Jacko Lantern. She has consistently passed on her will to milk to her daughters, most of whom we have retained in the herd.
Her son Hailstorm was nominated for the young sire program and we are excited to see how his daughters perform. Although we have been able to improve on her structure in her progeny, it is hard to top her production, and she has been a healthy and trouble-free goat, as eager to jump up on the milking stand as to head out to pasture.
