Tsunami was the first proof we had that our breeding program was working as far as improving size and structural correctness. Even as a one-year old, she stood out for her appearance, and was the favorite of the appraiser, who said we should aim for a herd full of goats like her.
Due to the pandemic, she was 4 years old the next time she was appraised, and even though she wasn’t feeling well that day, she easily earned a 90 excellent. She has very correct feet and legs, a powerful barrel, and a beautiful udder. While not our highest-producing goat, she milks a respectable 12 lbs for a standard milker on machine, and this year proved she could make 15 lbs with proper handling. She is passing on her structural advantages to her daughters, and we are breeding up for more milk in the next generation.
